Use the UBB Code. There is a link for it in the "FAQ" link above, or it can be seen when you make a post (Look to the left of the text box.)

Spark -- sorry if my question was not clear. I know how to cut-and-past an address and place and after it, but I don't know how to rename the link. Like the Knife Center link above which shows only the name Knife Center with an underline, but hides the actual link.

I already looked at the UBB Faq page but didn't find it.

So?

To see how people do different things you can always just click on the edit icon and see exactly how they did it. It looks like renaming a link is done with HTML and I think that Spark has asked us not to try HTML code if we don't know exactly how to do it. Apparently if it is done incorrectly it can wipe out a whole thread. I'm sure Spark will come on here and give the official word.

Hope that helps.
Paul

Sorry Titan I didn't realize that Spark had already mentioned that in a post to YOU!! Duhh. It's late what can I say.

Titan, please don't take offense at this, *but* what you have just demonstrated is that you don't understand HTML very well, and therefore, should not be using it here on these forums.

That being said, you change the URL in the <a href="http://www.bladeforums.com">And you rename this area between the sections for your link name</a> and the /a part ends the link.

Paul & Spark -- no offense taken. OK, no more fumbling around with HTML for me... until I know exactly what to do.

Thanks for the answers.

(I know I should follow my sig more seriously -- duh!)

Titan,
I don't think that you can understand a little without asking questions though. You should be able to practice HTML at home pretty easily without trying it out here first. I've been trying to learn more about it and it doesn't seem that hard it's just like learning any language...it just takes some time to become fluent. Great signature btw. I've been trying to come up with a better one.
Peace.

Like Spark says it is best to leave the HTML alone. It can screw up a thread pretty bad.

HTML doesn't work in signatures, only UBB Code.

Paul -- here's a better sig to my sig: "...it is best to understand a lot"

I'll try to learn more about HTML. I think MS Word has some tips on this language... any other online source (e.g., Idiot's Online Guide to HTML)?

Kelly -- congrats!
