Kinda a continuation of my chain saw thread....just breaking in the new chain saw. Just thought I'd post some picks of the stump I cut today.

now it's snowing like crazy outside. need to try building a snow shelter soon. :)

Great looking fatwood!!! Nice chain saw as well.

BTW Where are you located?? Looks like Sisters.

That's some sweet looking fatwood!

Great choice on the saw too. I have a 361 myself and absolutely love it.

nothing like lighter wood to dull your chain

I keep an old chain as a spare, and run a file over it before cutting fat wood. That way my regular use chain is not subjected to that abuse!

yea... it was a pain! I had to sharpen the chain 4 times to get all the way through it. It's my first chain so I'm going to buy a couple more sometime soon. Not only that...cutting fatwood CONSUMES the gas.

I assume there are different grades of chain saw chains that one can buy? Can anyone recommend a REALLY good one?

You know..... a 270th post fatwood giveaway would probably do well (just remember who thought it up). Maybe a "Show me your pathetic, puny man fatwood scores" thread;)

Great score- I've never seen it so translucent before!

You know it is good if Bushman has never seen anything like it:thumbup:

That is some amazing wood! I've never seen anything so resin rich. I need to find wood like that.

S30V. I hear D2 chips too easily.

You could check out different tooth profiles, and you may look into running a semi or full skip chain. Go to a true chainsaw shop and explain what you are doing and get their recommendations. Cost big bucks, consider a carbide chain.

Incredible! What will you do with it all? Sell it to us forumites for a sweet chunk of change?
