testing foxys folly pix

I too am glad I got my name in on the list. That is one sweet Khuk!!:D It will be interesting to hear what Yvsa thinks of the final product. I tend to respect his views on such things.:) I am waiting with much anticipation!!:D

In Answer to Bruise's question about the 16.5 " If we can get the kamis to stick to the model and stop putting straight handles on stuff when its supposed to be a curved handle, I've got a great full arc hanshee that I want to do in the 16.5 range, but it wont look right if they dont stick to the proper profile. Perhaps Uncle can find a way to constrain them.

UB-Have not been on the forum much in the last few weeks. How is Yvsa & his daughter doing?

Foxjaw, I would definately sign up for one of those. I like the hanshees and I'm starting to think that 16.5 in is probably the best length for me. I wish I had gotten that wood handled WW2 the other day.

I to think the curved handle on foxjaw's model looked better. The straight handle seems to take away something.

Yes, the straight handle interupts the fluidity of the design, Whereas the curved handle completes the movement. (not to mention its quite comfortable) :)

Havnt seen it yet. Yvsa is working down the edge and a couple of other things before he sends it over.

AA, there's another thread on the Foxy Follie Khuk where I commented on it.
I started the post so it should be easy to find.:)

I've had some troube this week.:( Still having to run up to my s-i-law's to get on the forum. Of all the 30 some odd computers Office Depot has ordered it had to be mine that got screwed up.:grumpy:
I may know something in a couple of days, I hope.

Day before yesterday I had a tooth pulled with the thoughts the dentist was gonna pull two teeth. He tried, but the 2nd one broke off so I had to go to an oral surgeon yesterday to have that one removed.
I did at least start to work on the way too loose scabbard today. I glued in 3 layers of Moroccan Goat and it's still not tight enough to suit me.:(
The karda and chakma are both waaaayyyy too small for the scabbard, they will litterally disappear in their respective places if a person isn't careful.:(
When I get home today I plan on doing some grinding work on Foxy's Khuk, if not I Will Do it Tomorrow so it can be shipped on next Wednesday at the latest, I hope.
That's what I'm shooting for anyway, if my dayumed body will permit me to do so.:grumpy:

Yvsa,
I had read the other thread also, but wondered how things had gone on the project. I have been laid up for three weeks now, after throwing my back out badly. I am so bored that I spend way to much time looking at the computer screen. It is a shame that our bodies pay us back when we get older for all of the abuses of our younger days. Ah well, I am far better off than some so I have no complaints. I do tend to dwell here looking for action, to read that is.;) I hope you are feeling better yourself. I think you have endured more pain than I can imagine so I will keep grinning and it will pass.:) I do look forward to hearing more on this blade. It seems to excite me in the same way your YCS has. Something about that forward curving design and fullers make me more excited than I seem to get with most others. I can not wait till the Follys start arriving for us to check out also. Take Care All!!

Rick

Arch, when the Folly arives from Yvsa I will be taking pics with my digital camera and sending them to someone that can post for all to see. Sounds like Yvsa is really working hard on that first copy of the Folly

Expecting to recieve Foxy's Folly #1 from Yvsa about Tuesday or Wednesday. Will post pics ASAP :D
