Hey all you Hogs! I know the Team Gemini Light Brigade is still a current offering from the Busse shop but I am thinking about starting a passaround for those that haven't had, or won't have, the chance to handle or purchase one or those who are too afraid to use theirs. If you're interested in joining, post here and if there are enough people in for it, we can get things rolling. Remember, this is just to test the waters to see if there would be enough interest in this. It's not a sign up.

Here's a picture:

Very kind of you to offer.
Hate to be the rainy day but,
Just be very careful, lots of forums have sad stories associated with the Pass Around knife "getting lost" or damaged beyond repair.
Just looking out for you my friend.

Also your TGLB looks different :) whats the story ?

Well, I'd like to handle and use one before pulling the trigger.

Thanks for the offer Safetyman! I'm in.

I'd guess that if proper precautions were taken, insured shipping, tracked shipping, tracking numbers sent to both the next user AND SAFETYMAN, I'd be willing to bet he gets his blade back in good shape.

I'm in.

Nah...

unless you got one handled in orange...I need to sight in my rifle...<see latest Busse Ad thread> ;)

No seriously, nice gesture Safety...But I'm betting there's not too many Hogs that haven't handled a TGLB or currently don't already own one <or more>

I'll stay tuned in to see how many bites you get

Very nice of you! Hopefully you can get a group together. I'm trying to decide if I should order another before they're gone.

Already have one, but want to say that I like what was done to yours...;-)

I understand your angle Dave. I ran a passaround with a Ratweiler back in 2010 and it went off without a hitch. Everyone who participated had fun. Now, I know for a fact the forum isn't like it was even a few years ago so I have that in the back of my mind. I miss the way it used to be, even if I didn't post much back then.

As for the knife itself, I'm not a fan of the dual guards so I hacked them off. I've been wanting to do that to a Team Gemini for a loooong time but other things always got in the way. I finally got the chance to do it and what you see is the result. The only thing I regret is not taking the handle scales off before doing the mods.

It still looks good. I have a friend who is a collector and because of that I got to handle the TG and the mean street. Cool and trusting offer. Brings to mind the little delta bow. Would be a shame if it went badly. As for me? I got 55 days until a LBTG is in my hot little mitts.

Just a note to thank you for your generous offer, Safety man!

I'm curious how passarounds usually work though. I see Davids point about protecting yourself. there.

How would the owner of a pass around blade do so? Would you ask that each participant put funds into a third parties PayPal to be refunded upon the successful passing of the blade?

I'm sure there's a way that you could guarantee no harm to yourself financially.

Curiosity.

Anyone who's participated in a pass around please feel free to enlighten me.

That's one way you could go and it would not be unreasonable. I have done two pass arounds and both went fine. All we asked is that who ever received the item pay shipping when they sent it to the next guy in line. I have seen many others and in all of them the item was sent with no deposit what ever. Folks were just cool that way.

Dan, all the participants would need to follow the BladeForums passaround rules here:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/262872-Rules-For-Passarounds

It's pretty simple actually. Each participant pay the shipping to the next person in line and the last person in line pay the shipping to me. I would give each person a week with the knife.

I would definately be in. I have never spend over $300 for a knife yet and that rules out the TG(most Busse's) for me. Had a Boss Jack for awhile that I regret selling. I wanted something bigger. Still looking for deals on users. Would really appreciate the chance to test one out. Will be keeping an eye out if it happens or not. Thanks alot even for the consideration.

I'd be very interested, I'm currently shopping for my first rat, INFI is out of my price range at the moment but I would love the opportunity to try it out.

That being said, I have no feedback, don't post very often and have been a member for less than a year, so I completely understand if Safetyman doesn't feel comfortable sending me a $400 knife to try...

Way to go safetyman
I've had a few passarounds (SHBA & SHSH) and mostly it all went well.
My one gripe and the reason I haven't done another yet is that although well intentioned there have been a few folks that took some liberties with my knives (splitting logs and driving the blade into the ground, extended stays of multiple weeks, etc), in the end the knives returned home safe and sound and if you play your cards right the last guy sends the knife to BUSSE and they give it a nice spa day and they it returns to you good as new.
If you have any questions or wanna chat just let me know.

Thats is exactly what I would hope to happen with this one.
