A recently finished special project. Inspired by one of Todd's favorite movies, " Predator". He has wanted to make one for a long time, had a bunch of fun building it. It completely disassembles.
Stats: The two blades and the mid blade are of cpm154, the steel scales are D-2, and the inlays are exhibition grade desert Ironwood, screws and posts are stainless.
Iced jeweling on the scales and some detail accents on the blades.
Four mirror polished flutes. The mid blade is notched and the blades slip into the notches, and are secured to the scales with stainless screws.

Over all length 12 1-2 inches, the width from point to point on the mid blade is 7 1/2 inches, the distance between the two tips of the blades is 4 3/4, the blade widths are 1 5/8..

I have more pics if you want to see them.... dont want to overload with images.

This is my first foray into the fantasy genre, and I got a kick out of it....don't know if I'll do more, but it was fun.

I like the way it looks...it makes me what to hold it, and move it around.

The contruction method looks solid, and innovative. The side shots are very interesting in an H.R. Giger sort of way.

Welcome back to active participation on the Forums. I remember when the last activity took place, and am pretty sure everyone will be much friendlier.(I know I will, because Tanya threatened to stomp me if I wasn't nice.:D)

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

That knife is just crazy. it's off-the-scale fantasy with zero apologies. What sets it apart is how precise the materials and fitment are (in typical Begg fashion).

Looks just a bit dangerous for a gent's knife.... ;)

Its a "head turner" for sure. I always love something different and this one made me stand up to look at it! The sad part is it may never get used but if it does, will make front page news!

STeven I would never stomp you, I am a LADY married to a KNIFEMAKER. Slicing and dicing important man parts are more my style.;)

Murray, it disassembles, but still would scare the customs guys!!

Bruce, its a user all right!!!! Got any nasty newspaper you want destroyed?? or trees killed?

My goal in building knives is to deliver a finished product that will cause my customer to jump up and down and pee their pants from sheer joy.

Looks like you're working toward that goal by any means necessary. ;) Thanks for sharing this Predator-inspired knife!

Reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee.

Here is that claw

Todd,

Not my favorite design, but this is what you're made to do: unique art pieces that leverage to the max your machining skills. In my opinion, you can become a top 50 name or better by focusing on that niche and partnering with a high end dealer to help you with the marketing & (to some extent) the design. Your fancy integrals are unique.

Design wise,… I think the piece speaks for it’s self! It is well balanced, symmetrical, angular, crisp, geometric, and hard edged,… yet it flows naturally, gracefully and smoothly as a mountain stream.

It looks obvious to me that you were very successful in accomplishing what you set out to do.

… looks tight! :)

I wonder if some company, like Fox Italia, could make production versions of Todd's integrals like they have done for other makers.

Thanks for your comments, constructive criticisms are WELCOME!

Mr. Goo, I am 100% certain you don't remember me, but, I met you when I was 19 (1990) in Tucson, in a store called "Sharp Stuff". I was buying a pair of leather shears for my first sheath I was trying to make. You came in, and the owner said.."there goes Tai Goo...." I came over introduced myself and told you I was a huge fan, you said "piss off kid, I'm busy..." (just kidding, you were gracious, tolerant, and encouraging!)........I have followed your work over the years, and remain a huge fan to this day.

WoW!!!

I had no idea! Small world!

It's good to cross paths again after so many years...

I'm honored that you remember me.

You do great work! :)

Okay, if you can modify that design and add a spring mechanism to it so the blades sheath in the forearm and pop forward off the back of the hands, I'm sure I can get like 100,000 comic book nerds to order a set no matter how much they cost.;)

Superb craftsmanship. One of the few instances where I think a fantasy art piece looks cool.
