Yes sir S street soldier . It's called a buckaroo pouch or I call it a folding knife pouch.

Yep trappers are "the cowboy knife" not a stockman.

Same here in Indiana. I see mostly trappers and Buck 110s and a few Leatherman.

Two years ago, I spent several days on the Navajo reservation. I saw a lot of trappers and Bucks there too - on belts and in pawn shops.

ETA: In all fairness to the stockman, most people would just carry a stockman in their pocket, so you wouldn't really see them.

I got a Buckarro a few years back but I always put the loop around my belt. I think using your pants belt loop is an invitation to loose your knife if the lanyard portion of the buckaroo snags on something. John

going to be looking for what they carry in West Texas, being sent to the El Paso area. I have a feeling that carrying my stagbone trapper will fit right in , that amd my Buck 110. I’ll report back on what I see when I get down there.

Sorry to hear your headed to Hell Paso. Don’t judge all of Texas by that bordertown. If you have time take a trip a few hours south and see the best West Texas has to offer, Big Bend.

I plan on doing a lot of exploring down there, got family that live in New Mexico so definitely plan on going west a bit.
I got a question about something, hopefully it doesn’t sidetrack the thread to much. If everything is bigger from Texas, then how come the Texas Toothpick is so small?

Do you keep the knife in your pocket or let it dangle?

Some of the Buckaroos here carry their knives in the Buckaroo sheath in their pockets but when the action starts they let the sheathes dangle from their belts as they're easier to grab/find while branding, etc..
