Texas Camp Knife Giveaway!! WINNER CHOSEN! See post #61

So, this was a hard decision for our esteemed judge! She agonized over two days, talking to me about the quality of the pictures, and the exciting adventures that seemingly took us all around North America and beyond!
I tried to stay completely out of the decision, mostly grunting in delight (is that possible?).
Finally, the more close-up experience with Barry from GunstackJack charmed her.
I liked the grander gestures a little better, but I was just a bystander in this process.
Thank you all for entering, and taking us along on some breathtaking trips to the great outdoors!!
The Camp knife goes to Barry Johnson for post number 11!
That is, provided he tells us about the knife he was shaving with in the last picture!!:D

P.S. there are many honourable mentions! Canoes, Llamas, wilderness, kids, knives and axes, roughing it to luxury! You all are to be commended - you brought it all home!! Thank you, thank you!!;)

Congrats Barry, and thank you Charlie for allowing us to see a bit of our fellow forum members' lives with your creative GAW.

Whaaat? I'm thrilled!!!!! Wow, thanks so much Charlie, and Joanne for her excellent taste! I am flabergasted !!!!! :D:D:D:D I will be using it this summer for camping and will post fresh photos! Thank you, thank you, thank you and also to all who posted!

OK, I'll fess up and tell that the knife in my avatar that I'm shaving with is a Northfield 23L in Primitive Bone honed and stropped to 'scary' sharp. However, I highly recommend using a straight razor with it's 11 degree bevel rather than a knife with a 20 degree bevel, as it pulled a mite! The knife I used is in a previous photo of the iron skillet and fire pit.

The worst part about shaving while camping is the cold water!

Congratulations for the winner, and thanks for the opportunity and generosity!

Awesome GAW, Charlie! Some really great posts too. Congratulations Barry!

Congratulations Barry! And Charlie's right, your photos are scenic.

Thanks for the chance, Charlie! This was a great giveaway.

Thanks guys! :) I'm beside myself with excitement! :semi-twins:

Congratulations Barry!

Congrats Barry! Thank you again Charlie for the opportunity, awesome thread and the compliment on the Yosemite photos. I truly enjoyed seeing all the different pictures.

Congrats to the winner, Gunstock Jack.

I did not post my pics of shaving with my 73 and 23, because Im gross, hairy, and shirtless!

Awesome news. Thank you Charlie and your lovely Judge 😄
Congrats to you Barry a very deserving winner and to all a massive thank you for some outstanding pictures that we all sat up and took joy from.

Thanks again to Charlie and all the participants! For now, I've given up shaving with a knife, or razor for that matter. :) Camping, however, is not on my 'quit list' and I will definitely be using the Texas Camp in the future!

Thanks for the gesture! Great thread all.

Well, I must admit that this it the first time I ever won anything other than maybe a Bingo game or two! This is by far the best prize ever! The Texas Camp Knife is incredible, and even more so 'cause it'll prob'ly never get made again (for awhile at least, until Bill forgets how much trouble it was to build!) I love it and will give it much care and oil! - Thank you so much Charlie and also Joanne for her fine judgement! kidding

This is the fine knife I received:

Haven't taken it camping yet, but I will soon and I'll make sure to bring a large canned chicken! (if I can find one!) I can't wait to try it out in the Olympic Rain Forest (next stop). Photos will be forthcoming sometime later this summer.

Thanks again Charlie and to everyone who participated in the GAW!
