Texas knife laws

Question. Next month I will be traveling to San Antonio for a medical convention. However, I will also be driving and staying in Austin and Galveston as well. So for SA, I'd be best carrying my Izula according to the laws? What about Galveston? And then for the rest, carrying my manix or caly would be fine if my understanding is correct?

No problems for Austin or Galveston.... just state law applies - single edge, 5.5 inches max. No concealed vs unconcealed. Simply legal or not legal for public carry.

For San Antonio, they have a local ordinance that bans locking folders of any lock type that have a blade length of LESS THAN 5.5 inches, effectively banning any locking folder.

However, there is a section of the ordinance that exempts "people traveling", with no definition of what constitutes "traveling". Since even the yahoos in our legislature have not yet declared illinois to be a suburb of San Antonio, I feel very strongly that you would qualify as a traveler. :D :D So if you can get it by the Turkey Stupid Association and get it to Texas, you can carry it.

The typical caveats apply, especially since I haven't stayed at a HOJO for years.

Thanks.

So I'll pack my Izula for SA and a folder for the rest. So happy to be visiting my home state.
