Texas Knife Makers Supply Heat Treat

Discussed this with Larrin and he was of the opinion that the hardness probably ended up at 56. Not desirable.
He also thought redoing the heat treat should be possible without an intermediate anneal.

It would probably be better to temper at 1350’f for 4 hours before going back in to heat treat. (wrap in ht foil)
Maybe not necessary but probably better.

TKS Heat Treating has been out of date for many years. They won't budge on anything; I am surprised people still use them? If they are going to use the same recipe for all steels, they should only do the steels that it's an optimal recipe for.
 
controversial opinion warning:
It's more important to have a hardness tester if you outsource your heat treatments than if you do your heat treatments yourself
