Has anyone tried these epoxy colorants from TKS ? Almost appears to be just like regular old water soluable paint ? Or does the mixture work better with epoxy than say if i added just regular old kids paint?

Thanks in advance !

I read a post a while ago, where the person recommended using Testors model paints to color epoxy. Those are acrylics. I'd try that for less cost.

I've used the stuff from Texas. So far, the black from them is better than any other black I've used. Really, I've played around with lots of stuff and the stuff from Texas Knife supply really works well. It works better than paints, IMO.

I know for a fact that you have to experiment with any of those dyes. Some will cure harder than others, or if they do cure as hard, some take WAY longer to set up. Also, you have to experiment with your epoxies. Some will give you a nice color when mixed but will be really dark when dry. You can spend a lot of time with this stuff only to find out it doesn't work out.

Ask me how I know. :p

I use them also, the black and the red are the best I have used.

acrylic stain with an epoxy resin additive works just as well and you can get a gallon of the stuff for about 15 bucks at sherwin williams.
