HELLO ALL,

I have up for sale a texas style bowie. I don't make many of these. The nickel guard is a double guard with balls on the end. I used the guard in the video on making half penny quillion and ball on end guards.

the steel is 9260 (5160) hand forged to shape. The blade was clay quenched and supports a low profile hamon.

The wood is curly maple. Black spacer material between the guard and the handle, almost non-noticable.

measurements are:

Overall" 12.5"
Cutting: 6.5:
blade w/choil: 7 1/4:
Handle"5"
blade width: 1 1/2 at widest
blade thick: 3/16
guard length: 3 1/8" long

Cost" $350 delivered to lower 48 states, comes with sheath, state left or right carry, will need to be made, allow up to one week. paypal is dpknifemaker@aol.com

Spectacular Daniel! How is the long damascus coming? I am looking forward to the arrival of the knife I purchased last month.

the handle was finished by sanding the handle to 600 then 800 grit, with staining before the 600, after the 600, then after the 800 then rubbed with oooo steel wool. the handle was then coated with super glue, then steel wool, buffed, then the process repeated three times. be careful not to cake the glue on as you will need to sand it smooth again and start over. hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing. That is a nice looking finish. I can't believe this knife is still here.
