Texture of wood inlay

I'm thinking of buying a wood inlay Large Sebenza to accompany my Small Sebenza and Umfaan.

Does the wood inlay have a wood grain texture? On photos, the wood looks plasticy, smooth and shiney as if were sealed in plastic. None of the stores around here have any in stock, can anyone describe the texture?

The wood is stabilized (resin?). It is smooth and it should not absorb anything. While this does make it more durable, it may detract (ever so slightly) from the "warmth" of the feel. I have a large desert ironwood sebbie now...and I used to have a large classic with the same inlays...both "felt" like I expected ironwood to feel - hard, unyielding, smooth, and secure.
