TGLB Makeover

Thanks dude =) Yeah so on Tommy's somehow I put it in the 'mod pile' instead of the 'regrind pile' (both of which have two significantly different turn arounds) and I didn't realize it until I told him I was going to be beginning on it asap (because I was coming up on the deadline for mods), at that point I didn't want to go back on my word so I went ahead with it.

But normal grind work is about 7 weeks right now, whereas mods are about 3 weeks. Sorry Ben, I know you have been SUPER patient waiting (you're right I've been crazy busy, it's starting to slow down a little bit now I think fortunately), I should be doing the FFG grind on your BB13 tomorrow actually!

that's fine ... as long as Ben has his modded knife back in hand by April 27, all will be OK.

the more that I see these mod threads, the more blades I think that I need to send to Josh!

I second that! Josh's work is second to none IMO
I hope to have a project back from Keffeler for that trip too

It's finished and looks fantastic! Josh is going to post a thread with pics shortly. I will definitely bring it to the camping trip.

I'm really looking forward to seeing that special project knife, it sounds pretty fantastic.

What a transformation!! That is spectacular now! I am considering sending a TGLB in too, but don't know about changing the grind? What was your reasoning to modify that? I presume to create a more durable edge? Also, was the fastener change a cosmetic change mostly or to allow a grip change easily? Thanks and awesome looking knife!!!

You're never going to get more durable of an edge than the Busse factory edge. Changing the grind gives better cuttting geometry, at some expense to durability. INFI can handle a lot though!

Thanks, I love a Zero Convex and after talking to Josh we both agreed FOR ME this was the Way to Go! Josh will do any work any way you want it-You are the Customer! I have another TGLB I am going to send him and will have all the same work done, But may leave the Grind Stock (Shallow Hollow), I like Variety! The main reason for the fastener change is ease of removing the scales for cleaning purposes, however cosmetically I believe they also match the satin blade much better than the Standard Busse Fasteners! It is up to you what work you want done! Whatever Grind you decide you are probably never gonna damage Infi!! Grinds are a personal preference-Cheers!!!

Looks much much better now, it's always thrilling to see dust collectors get a vibrant new life. Congrats on a truly beautiful blade.
