I recently got the last piece of a set of Loveless models from Thad's shop. The "Dixon" fighter model was purchased seperately, and after that I would say I was hooked... My favorite designs seemed to echo many here on the forum. The Wilderness, Chute, Big Bear, and as mentioned, the Dixon model. All are scaled with bark ivory except the Dixon piece below which uses more interior sections. It is remarkable how well Thad was able to match the pieces as they are quite nearly mirror images... The engraving and inlay on the Dixon model was done by my friend, Joe Mason.. The others in the set will remain as they are, unengraved... Hope you enjoy seeing them guys...

Hi Rich,

Hubba hubba! Well, talk about a timely post. These 'Loveless' style knives are drawing every onlooker to pay close attention--and look what you just dragged out to behold!

Thad is at the top of his game. Your taste in knives is exceeded only by your professional-quality images.

Wonderful. :)

I'm not the biggest fan of Loveless style knives, but I do have to admit that those are some beauties! Congrats!

A rising star!

Beautiful photos Rich and congratulations on the outstanding knives.

Those are really great, the knives and engraving both. And Thad is a nice guy to boot. Congrats.

Every one of them superbly made, with very nice leatherwork. Exceptional engraving too.

Absolutely superb work...everyone of them. The first one is THE ONE that really really grabs me. Just fantastic... exquisite is a better word.

Totally beautiful work!!! :)

WOW...those are ALL awesome knives Rich.

Joe did a great job on the engraving also! He has a distinct style and it looks good on the fighter.

Beautiful!

Thad really knocked them out of the park with these!

The Ivory on the first one, is from just under the bark. And is the hardest look to obtain. A little too shallow, and still looks like bark. A little too deep, and plain old Ivory.

Not to mention, it has to be truly premium Ivory to have this texture in the first place. And you never quite know for sure if it is going to be there or not.

To my eyes, it is the best looking Ivory of all, and much rarer!

My favorites are the Dixon(big surprise) and the chute....Thad is a super guy! Spoke with him and Melissa on Tuesday....he will be at the Plaza Knife Show in Costa Mesa next month, come out and check out some GREAT knives!

Boy, I am one happy guy to read all of your comments. I got to read a few last night, and off and on today, and I was grinning all day. Thank you J.C. and K.J. for your kind comments directed to me. Lots of my collector friends, and makers I admire left nice remarks.
I haven't seen Joe Mason post, or remark on any of his work here in a long time.. Thanks for posting the new work on the boot knife Joe. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the boot piece Joe posted is not a Loveless model is it? Again, Thank You All..

A quick follow up to one poster, Mike Lovett. The ivory on that Dixon really is something. I don't know Thad personally, but he told someone that he thought it was to risky to try to duplicate that for the whole set. He considered it special..

Here is a closer look, side by side, so perhaps the character and "match-up" show up a bit better... Thanks, Rich
