The Dui Chirra is lighter than mine at 22 ounce- Gehazi better get it fast before I loose control and send an ems!

I've been waiting on either a dui chirra or an M-43 that's 18 inches long and 25 ounces or lighter. I can't wait to get it!

Congrats on that super fighting Kukri. It's a light weight gem. I have a similar Thamar Dui Chirra that is 17in 22.5oz. You are going to love it. I actually just opened my new Thamar Tin Chirra... It's a masterpiece!

Hey Moon! Were not alone! That is some pretty wood. Kinda looks like that handle gb just opened up?
Grats FSC! Glad to see some lighter ones showing up. They are really sweet. I have a 21 ounce Yek Chirra and is one of my favorites:thumbup:

So I am still one of the two with a curved Samsher and chiruwa style. This one reminds me more of Bura's Samsher, unless I am wrong.

Ha, we wrote at the same time. Ours are also a ounce or two heavier?

The Samsher has a very traditional handle and blade shape. Notice the pommel, I wonder if it's a partial or hidden tang. The balance of hidden tangs is amazing, especially considering the light weight.

Ah! Your right! I didnt even notice the traditional handle. We still got no. 1&2 of the Chiruwas. I actually prefer the traditionally handles like this one but im happy as a clam with mine. Its definitely in top five status of all my khuks. Its hard to tell but looks like ours have a little more drop. Maybe just the angle of the photo. The edge profile looks the same tho. Cant believe its still there?

Auntie, is that brass or white metal for the fittings on the Dui Chirra? I can't tell from the pic.

My current (and only) kukri at the moment (until I get this new one) is 15" long and weighs 27 ounces and is full-tang. I'm looking forward to seeing what the dui chirra can do. My current one has been my woods buddy for a while and performs nicely. Anything I should be cautious of with my new purchase?

The Samsher looks like a traditional long leaf from the WW1 era - if I am right in describing it that way. With a partial tang. Even the weight is in the right range.
I would have gone for it except the handle looks too long and big for my hands. If anyone is interested in that kind of blade, it's a great way to get your hands on a new copy of a great historical blade compared to getting one from United Cutlery imho.
