Some not so good news after some testing. Was chopping on some small (under 1") poplar and maple branches and this happened. Looks like an issue with the HT? I've sent an email to Yangdu.

What do you guys make of the nature of the chips? Looks black inside like forging scale, cold shut on the edge maybe?

Against better judgements I've reprofile the edge and done some testing without failure of the edge. Unsure if I'll return it or not.

The butt cap has now come loose.

It should be noted that this is my first "bad" khukuri out of the nearly 10 I've owned from HI. As with any company it can be hard to see these types of flaws, especially if they don't appear until they're used.
