If it were not for women Busses prices would be outrageous!!!

I was just looking in the exchange and thing back to all the posts about my wife/girlfriend wants me to sell (name the knife). So when will we see this one posted for sale:

"She says one or the other is going to go so take your pick.

For sale to good home $37,000: (a) completely mint Busse collection OR, (b) used but not abused 5’4” redhead, if you look close you'll see that her coatings are starting to crinkle, but still in good shape, lots of miles left. Would consider other knives in trade for (b) or best offers. Will ship to Arabia at no additional cost.”

I laughed so hard my wife wanted to see what was going on. She asked who posted this and I said.............

"A Dead Man :D (if his wife finds out!)"

Good evening everyone - Its Saturday Night!!!

I know of a couple HOGs that could get that price for their Busse collections,,, real easy. Just by dropping the owners name. But I prefer to "hand pick" my women. Just the way I do things. Not a real big mail order fan when it comes to things like that. Also the post mentions no cooking skill or "other" skills I would take the INFI off that add without a second thought(with the right name attached of course). Let him keep the redhead, is what I say.

Which generation is the redhead? Standard or mag grips? Asymmetrical grinds?

need pics of redhead and collection in order to decide.....(probably the collection though as current wife is trouble enough)

Late 60's vintage. I though she had standard grips when I got her but when I look now they seem more like mags. Nice swells though; they fill the palm nicely holding on from the front or rear, although they seem to ride a bit lower than I recall too.

And the coatings are not bad at all. I think that 10 days at a spa will lift the front and rear swells a little, and a dermabrasion would take years off the coatings.

Oh and it grinds nice and symmetrical (grinder still self lubricates too)!!!

(OK... I have to go see my girlfriend now)

Classic!! Some of the later generations look nice but a broken-in user definitely fits the palm better. I've got a '71 vintage myself and, while always fun to look, I would never trade her for a newer model. I like her better now than when I first got her back in '95.

Just remember: A "user" blade is happy; a "safe queen" is looking for the next owner. ;)

I like users!! You do not mind playing with them!!

Safe Queens require just too much care.

Thanks guys! I just spewed some perfectly good rum & cola on my keyboard laughing so hard!!

I have a '71 model myself. Got her back in '91 (she was still a little green then). Listening to some of the '80's models talk in the bar makes me happy I have one of the classics. Newer models appear to take much more maintainance than the classics, and they are much more complicated....I think I will stick with the classic.

I will take they busse collection. It will never talk back, say no, or leave you, plus the value grows with age. Man I hope my fiancee dont read this. lol
