Which generation is the redhead? Standard or mag grips? Asymmetrical grinds?
Variants may be fun to date once or twice but they can be trying after a while! Some are cool but some are an experimental design that just doesn't work in practice!
Some guys think that when you get away on vacation that it is time to try out other stuff, variants etc, whatevery you can afford. I think that is OK as long as you don't star to brag about all the stuff you got to try. Or try some other guy's stuff when he didn't know about it.
But day in day out... I think that when you find a good user, and get comfortable with her, that over time you need to do your own performance modification and change the way you use her so you get maximum performance out of every inch. Like changing the grind angle to see how it affects her performance. After a while -if you get to know her well enough- it is ALMOST like she can communicate with you.
There's nothing wrong with sending her back to the shop to be reprofiled at some point. There is usually a charge for this but there are definite upsides. She comes back looking like she did when she was newer, and it's really 'uplifting' to her as well as the user. And it makes the other guys stare, which is always fun...
