Now that I get to spend my money, I'm going to be having an amazing knife month in a week. I sold off most of my collection during the last half of my 4 year marriage. Now I get to rebuild.

Just sent off funds (snail mail) to BladeHQ for a Black Bear Knives Guardian folder on Monday. That will prolly arrive sometime next week. I also promised a member (volundoftheforge) that I'd buy his BM30 off him. Last night, I found a Spyderco Vallotton D/A on Microholics and am also committed to buy that one. Funds go out for those when the eagle craps on the 30th.

All in all, not a bad haul. :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention... I have 30 days sober today!

Yep, nothing spells relief like divorce does in so many ways. :D

Yessir. Sober 30 days is good. Keep it up. It does get easier as the months and then years go by. I passed the 10 year mark in January on a sobriety front.

Having a hobby like this is a good way to spend that extra cash you will be amazed how much you'll have.

I'm going through a divorce also. Freedom is the most expensive thing there is, always has been. That includes freedom from addiction. It costs more than any other thing you'll ever buy.

Worth it!!!

At about 2 years sober I was fretting over buying a new Beretta. My sponsor asked me if my bills were paid, and if I bought the Beretta would I be able to pay my bills NEXT month. When the answer was "yes", he asked me "Why in the hell did you get sober? Buy the Beretta."

Lol, 15 years later I have an arsenal. Congrats on the 30 days. Much more impressive than the knives.;)

CM, knife addition is a not-so-distant cousin of alcoholism and drug addiction, in that each distracts us from our subconscious turmoil and angst. In the process, we are anesthetized and soothed, like a baby on its mother's teat. Hoarding, overeating and nicotine are other ways we find solace. The adverse consequences of a knife addiction (over spending) are obviously quiet different from the deleterious effects of more harmful addictions, but it is interesting (to me at least) and perhaps helpful to recognize the nexus between knife hoarding and more harmful addictions.

Well done on your 30 days. I hope it turns into 30 months and 30 years. You will have quite a pile of knives by then.

Sounds like you're in a happy place right now. Woot! We expect a lot of knife photos from you in the future. ;)

Holy mother of God!

I have 9 knives (one light, and one watch) to my name right now. Not trying to hoard but these were deals that I couldn't turn down, lest someone else snatch them up :)

On the topic of knives and sobriety... When (God willing) I reach 90 days, I'll be doing a waved large Sebenza giveaway here.
