Thank the Lord for divorce!

Now that I get to spend my money, I'm going to be having an amazing knife month in a week. I sold off most of my collection during the last half of my 4 year marriage. Now I get to rebuild.

Just sent off funds (snail mail) to BladeHQ for a Black Bear Knives Guardian folder on Monday. That will prolly arrive sometime next week. I also promised a member (volundoftheforge) that I'd buy his BM30 off him. Last night, I found a Spyderco Vallotton D/A on Microholics and am also committed to buy that one. Funds go out for those when the eagle craps on the 30th.

All in all, not a bad haul. :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention... I have 30 days sober today!
Congratulations!
Have fun with your new knives! :D

Congrats on the 30, enjoy the blades! I don't know you, sir, but I relate on both counts  by the way, love that D/A spyderco, haven't seen a D/A one before... awesome

CM, not only do you make amazing blades, but now you're with the sane! Congrats on 30 days, but remember in times that are hard how much you have accomplished. Keep focused on what you've done. It's amazing the work you've done, and the hard part is really over. I'm proud of you, and so are others.

When (God willing) I reach 90 days, I'll be doing a waved large Sebenza giveaway here.

Good God. You WAVED a Sebenza? Wow.

Good on you for the 30 days. Just get through the next one and the next one and pretty soon you''ll look back and think it was easier than you thought it would be -- at least I hope so.

Haven't bought it yet.

I'll prolly use the thumbstud hole as the basis for the wave hook and just lower the spine.

Just because a person loves someone doesn't make that person the right one to be with. Unfortunantly I have learned this the hard way a couple of times in my life. Sounds like you are doing well. Best of luck!

You're back CM! I really hope all is well with you Brother.

Thanks, things are going good, just seems like when you're trying to get your life straightened out... God gives you a little test of your resolve. Still sober.

Congrats on the 30 Days man,

Thank the Lord for Divorce
That's what i said after my folks ended it haha, keep us updated on the collection and keep the booze money in with the knife money to gets some sweet sharp buddies :D

CM, knife addition is a not-so-distant cousin of alcoholism and drug addiction, in that each distracts us from our subconscious turmoil and angst. In the process, we are anesthetized and soothed, like a baby on its mother's teat. Hoarding, overeating and nicotine are other ways we find solace. The adverse consequences of a knife addiction (over spending) are obviously quiet different from the deleterious effects of more harmful addictions, but it is interesting (to me at least) and perhaps helpful to recognize the nexus between knife hoarding and more harmful addictions.

Well done on your 30 days. I hope it turns into 30 months and 30 years. You will have quite a pile of knives by then.

How about you share one of those spydies with me? :P

If I counted correctly, I think I have 43 or 44 days.

Good going on the 43/44 days of sobriety CM! Above anything else THAT is quite an achievement.

I will have 7 years of divorce behind me this November. It was tough at first, but after about a year I woke up one morning and had an ephiany that I was going to be alright and everything else was going to be alright, and it has been, and I have not looked back. Time does heal.

I have been rebuilding my collection since having to sell them off this past fall to pay medical bills. I can feel your excitment of getting knives in the mail, because I get the same feeling myself even though most of the knives I are ones i've had.

Again, congrats on the sobriety and take it one day at a time, one hour at a time, even one minute at a time, and count each success as a victory.........and you will make it my friend.

Edited to add;
I forgot to say that I just got a Vallotton a few weeks ago and am loving it all over again! I can't imagine how cool an auto Vallotton would be, so you are just going to have to tell me!!!
