That's a trip and a half. I have made a spear from a bushman with a short handle that I keep for various defense purposes. Nice to know how well they actually work. thanks for posting.

Wow that's surprising but a cultural difference I guess. I can not imagine ay LEO in the U.S. not taking the Bushman away from a Swiss traveler cycling across the country but they would probably leave the "stick" with him. As for the feral dog scenario, yes I too love dogs but your action was proper and entirely defensive. Again, thanks for sharing your experience.

Actually, I think as long as the Bushman was packed out of sight, it'd be okay for anywhere in the US, even passing through NYC. It's camping equipment. Now if you're wearing it on your body, that's big trouble in most any urban area. You'll be arrested.
