  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Thank you for this wonderful knife

Resurrecting an old post and I'm hoping comis comis will see it and respond because to me this is the most beautiful forced Patina I've ever seen. I've played around on a couple of my 1095 CS knives and I just can't seem to get this effect or even close to it. The only thing I can think of is I'm not using the correct yellow mustard to 5% acidity vinegar ratio and application technique.

In one of the posts, comis wrote "It's actually plain old French mustard mixed with 5% acidity vinegar". As I previously said, I'm hoping comis will chime in or perhaps someone who's had similar results can help me with the following questions....
1) What is the approximate ratio of mustard to vinegar?
2) How well do mix the two ingredients?
3) Finally, how is the mixture applied to the the blade (technique)? I've tried dabbing with my finger, Q-tip, etc. and my results look nothing like his. I will greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!
