Nice!! That would be the only thing I would change to the Basic 11! Sweet stuff and good to know that it can be done.

You are responsible for making me get another Basic 11, since I'll need one with the original handles and one to get modified. Perhaps I'll get an asymmetrical edge put on one of them as well.
 
I have not used an Asym edge for anything other than chopping so I don't know how it performs but I think it penetrates better when chopping. If you are going to convert a regular to asym you would have to take off quite a bit of the edge.
