Recently I received a PM from Kris. At the end of the message was his phone number. Because we have things in common, such as the work we do and similar taste in cutlery I figured I would give him a call. We talked for a good while about things from work, his recent injury to knives. Toward the end of the conversation Kris asked me to PM him my address. He said he would put a package in the mail for me and it should arrive by last Friday.

I knew the earliest I could see the contents of the package would be late Saturday night due to a trip. It was important to me to go on the trip because I planned to take a knife maker friend to breakfast on Saturday who's wife had recently died and to pick up a milling machine I purchased in another state.

I had my wonderful wife checking the mail for me on Friday. The mail ran at 12:05. The mail contained a slip saying a package had arrived and needed to be picked up at the local post office. The local, rural, post office has business hour of 8:00-11:00 am Monday - Friday. Now I have to wait until Monday evening.

I will say that the wait was well worth it.

to say I was blown away would understate the feeling by a huge margin. I have been incredibly busy since I received this beautiful gift and am just now getting time to post this.

I have admire the Lanny's Clip pattern for a long time and had hoped to buy one at some point. The fact that folks give so freely here is amazing, the fact that they give items they themselves love and enjoy to folks they have never met face to face is almost unbelievable. This world is a much better place for the folks that hang out on the porch and guys like Kris are a rare and uncommon thing in today's society.

Thank you Kris. I truly am amazed and unable to word the feeling of such a generous gift.

Kindest regards,
Chris

I met Doc in Las Vegas at a knife show years ago.

Congratulations Chris, and a huge Kudo's to you Kris!

Chris, I am glad that you are happy with the Lanny's Clip. My wife and I see Doc every year at the MKA show in Missoula, Doc and his wife love making the trip to MT. He is getting older now, so I hope that we continue to see him at the show this year, and for years to come. Thanks for the kind words folks, I hope everyone had a great weekend,

Kris

Very cool and generous, Kris. That Lanny's Clip is a beauty. I don't see his name mentioned as often as some, but I love Doc Hagen's work. For those who aren't familiar with him, Doc is a retired dentist from northern Minnesota, and for icing on the cake, he's also a fiddle player!

Thanks for all the kind replies.
Zuchus, thanks for giving some background information on Doc Hagen. I am very impressed with his work.

Chris

Wow!!!

I thought I had long passed being surprised at this place. Today this proves me wrong. What a great gift from a great person. Congrats to both of you giving and receiving!
