Thanks, Paul. The review is on its way, promise. I got the memory card issue sorted out a few weeks ago, so I was able to salvage the pics to go along with it. That was the main hold-up... a review without pictures seems somewhat incomplete to me.
Somber, I honestly think you've misunderstood Singularity35's attitude and intentions with his posts in this thread. I can't speak for all his other posts that you refer to, but nothing he posted in this particular thread made me think he was trolling or the like. Of course, I could be wrong, as I'm currently battling a nasty flu and haven't been able to mentally process things effectively for the last week. Just sharing my perception. Thanks for stepping up and extolling the virtues of Murray's knives, though. Much appreciated.
And regarding what makes my Murray Carter neck knife so special compared to, say, a Bark River knife? Nothing. Nothing that matters to anybody but myself. I'm just jazzed about a new knife I've been jonesing over for a year. That's all. I love my Bark River Golok almost as much as my Carter necker. I think they'll make an outstanding combo for my camping and canoeing trips. I also think Carter knives are similar to Sebenzas in that they don't look like much (to some people), but once you use one you'll quickly understand what all the hubbub (and price) is about. Sure, there's a lot more to it, like others have so helpfully explained before me in this thread, but in the end it's just a cool knife I really dig. Simple.
