Thank you Old & in the Way !

Rob, very nice Shirt and knife:thumbup: That Backwoods is drop dead gorgeous...he makes beautiful knives:cool:

I don't find to much time to post of late but notice the absence of Stephen...one always misses the good guys:)

By the way I haven't seen much from Smithhammer? Hope both he and Stephen find there way back to the porch:thumbup:

Primble - I'm glad that the package made it to you in time for the weekend, and apologize for the short note and not finding the time to follow-up until now. I've been out of town this week and just got back in tonight after another long day on the road. I actually logged in just now to send you a PM when I noticed your thread. :) As usual, your photos of the knife are terrific, though I'm also hoping to see photographic evidence of you wearing that Crimson Tide t-shirt (perhaps you can sweet talk a waitress at the diner to snap a photo for you). :D Kidding aside, I hope that you get some use out of the little fixed blade. I think Bill makes some incredible knives and really like how balanced that little pattern feels in the hand (I believe he calls that one a pocket skeeter. The wood is olive burl, which I thought quite attractive and aromatic, and the steel is 1095. Again, I hope you enjoy it. :)

All - thanks for the kind words. I hate that I haven't been around much lately, but hope to be able to post more regularly again in the near future. I miss all of you and hope that all of you have been doing well. :thumbup::)

P.S. I agree with Sarah regarding the Red Sox hat!

I would like to hear more about the steel and wood on that baby. :)

I think it is 1095 steel and Olive wood Mark. Just a tad over 6 inches long. The steel acted like 1095 in my vinegar pot this morning. ;):D

( I posted this before I saw Stephen's comments)

I threw in a bunch of Kettle chips and sea salt in the same pot, in preparation for the football kickoff this weekend. ;):D

Good to see you around my friend !

Looks like you haven't forgotten any tricks while you were away. Pinning me down on wearing that shirt, eh ?! ;):D

I will be wearing it Saturday. I will see if I can get somebody to validate it for me. Roll Tide !!! :D:D:D

What a great looking knife Stephen! And the sheath looks really good too! What a great gift.:thumbup:

As for Primble, you do realize the at Alabama plays my Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night. First, your Wildcats take out the Badgers in the Final 4, then this year in the Championship game, now this 'Bama t-shirt deal!:eek: Why do you insist on trying to crush my poor alma mater?:grumpy: I thought it was going to be an uphill battle opening the season with UA, but now they've even got you cheering against us!:eek::D:

That's not the way I remember it ! :grumpy::grumpy:;):D

Stephen,
It don't get better then this. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Primble,
Have a GREAT weekend. :)

Great to see your post Stephen :) Knife looks great Primble :thumbup:

I reckon I better get that shirt washed and ready to wear for Saturday. Primble always keeps his word. :o:D

Up bright and early for my Saturday morning walk today. Never let it be said that Primble goes back on his word. ;):D

During my one hour walk, about three cars held down on their horns and were shaking their fists out the window !

This might not go so well at the diner this evening. :D

Well- I never said what hat or color of glasses I would be wearing. ;);):D

I need me one of them Nick Saban straw Bama hats if I am going to keep this up ! :D:D

This was my first attempt at selfies ! Who is that old guy !!! :eek::eek::eek::D

Primble, the shirt looks good! :thumbup::thumbup:
I don't understand your reservations about wearing it, or Stephen's insistence that you do so. From up in Michigan, all those SEC schools look pretty much the same. Alabama ... Kentucky ... how do you folks even distinguish between 'em all?? :confused::confused:

I am wearing it proudly GT !!! :D:D

When I agreed, I thought Tide colors were DARK red. OW got me the brightest dark red shirt he could find, it seems !! :eek::eek:;):D

It is almost Crimson fire truck red !

I am leaving for the diner in a few minutes. We will see how that goes. I might have to get tough with them old guys (in blue) over there tonight ! :grumpy::grumpy::D

Pumping some iron before I leave. ;);):grumpy:

P.S. - Don't you guys quote that pic of me no more. Once was enough !! :D:D:D

Reminds me of when I lived in Dallas, and Grandpa sent me a Pittsburgh Steelers hat.
"I can't wear that to school!" :eek::eek:
:D
