• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Thank you, Phil Devries

A while back I posted two topics regarding the legality of conversion autos in the automatic knife forum. Apparently the procedure I was talking about was illegal, and nobody posted replies in either of those posts.

I just read an email that Phil sent to me a while back (I have multiple email accounts), in which he kindle explained the situation.

I know that auto knife fans have to be very careful about legalities and whatnot, but someone could have at least informed of of this fact.

I was not asking how to make a knife automatic, or where i could get instructions on performing an illegal procedure, I just wanted to know if converting a non-auto to an auto was legal. Nothing more.

I suppose the purpose of this post, besides publicly thanking Phil for taking the time to e-mail an answer to a question that a young and relatively un-knowledgable knife enthusiast had asked, is to pose this question: Why did he have to? Couldn't any of the rest of you just kindly post that converting a knife is illegal, and leave it at that?
