I just wanted to use this opportunity to thank Scott for his help and encouragement in my knifemaking. A little over a year ago, I posted on the "other forum" about doing a passaround of a knife I had just finished. Scott was one of those who said he would like to be in on it. After he had a chance to use it on a camping trip, he sent me an email, and said to give him a call, he wanted to talk about my knife. My first thoughts were "oh boy, it must really be a piece of junk if Scott wants to talk about it instead of posting a review!" Nothing could be further from what happened during our 45 minute call. He told me some things I needed to improve on, but most important to me, he gave me some great suggestions on what to do differently, and lots of encouragement. To make a long story short, as I am approaching the end of my first year as a full time maker, I wanted to post a thank you to one of the guys who helped make it happen. Thank you Scott!

John, you are most welcome. You have really come a long way and keep getting better. The more you do it the better it gets. The most important thing to remember, never give up. Ignore the nay sayers and use any negativity in a positive way. I've always had the attitude, if someone says I can't do something, I set out to prove them wrong. I guess that's why i got into trouble when I was younger. :D
Drive on John, you are making a big splash in the knifemaking world.
Scott

John, that Kephart I got from you is still one of my favorites. Scott, after I got over my initial apprehension of "tarnishing" the Kepharts you made for me, I have had a lot of fun out of them. Two great makers here.

What little interaction I've had with Scott has been nothing but positive. Of course I could say that about almost everyone on this forum which is why I like it so much.:D
