Hello,

I just recently finished my first knife, and wanted to post a thank you to the forum for all of the information available here that enabled me to actually produce it.

I would post a pic, but I don't have an image sharing site and can not attach a file(I would also like to get a better picture that the ones I currently have.)

It is a small sickle shaped blade, made from an old saw blade. red oak handles and brass pins. I'm pretty proud of it for a first attempt, though I know there is so much I could do to improve it. It was also made with a pretty minimal set up, so for anybody who thinks they don't have enough tools, there is hope. The blade was cut out using an angle grinder, and a 1.25hp craftsmen belt sander. that, a drill press, and a dremel were the only power tools used.

I'm going to look at image hosting so I can link the pic I have oif it for critiques.

but thank you for giving me the confidence to attempt it.

Check out www.photobucket.com. They will host images and it's free to sign up and upload/share images.

Congrats on making that first one. I remember my first, and it wasn't pretty! Kinda like a lot of firsts, I guess :D. Hopefully, it will be just the first of many to come.

Very interesting, I like it, What is the redness on the spine of the blade near the handle?

I'm not sure what the red is. it isn't on the actual knife so it may have been a reflection from the background or a weird flash image.
