Many, Many Thanks Everyone for all the prayers and smoke!!!! They worked very, very well as usual!!!!:D

Just got home from having the toe surgery this morning. Happy to say that everything went well except for it taking quite a bit longer than what we were told.
We got to the hospital at 8:30 this morning, got situated in room at 9:00 a.m. and got 1st shot of demerol at 9:30 a.m. It was a little early so I had another one about 11:00 a.m. just before they wheeled me into the operating room.
I was a little nervous as all the people in there were having Way Too Much FUN, Much Better than having them all serious after loseing the last patient so I wasn't concerned long!!!!  ;)
Anyway got installed on the operating table without me loseing my dignity and/or shocking the ha'il out of the female nurses.
The anethesologist told me to take a couple of deep breaths after a mask was put over my face and the next thing I knew I was waking up at 10 minutes 'til 1:00 p.m.!!!!
Got another shot of morphine at 10 after 1:00p.m. and had to wait for another 20 minutes before they would let me go back to my room so I left outta the recovery room at 1:37p.m.
The foot is starting to throb a little as it's been hanging down since before we left the hospital, but I'm gonna eat before I settle back and put the foot up!!!!:D
I'm looking forward to having pain free walking in the left foot after about a month.
The doc said I could maybe get my shoe on in about 14 days if everything goes alright and I'm positive it will!!!!:D

Yvsa, I'm glad it went well for you and that you are doing good. You know, you're lucky. When I went into surgery I was clothed in those hospital thingys. But when I woke up, I was Butt Naked:eek: with a lot of cute nurses around..

If things work out maybe I can send you an obsidian neck knife to wear into your next surgery. Still on the preliminaries but it's looking good and ought to be non-magnetic.

Great news Yvsa, and I hope it continues to be so as you heal. Heal quick, the woods are calling.:D

Sarge

Damn, with all the postponements I forgot when you were going in for this. Glad to hear everything turned out ok.

Glad to hear you're doing ok, Yvsa! I have images of you in a gurney with your foot in a cloth, strung up by a rope and pulley, typing furiously at a keyboard... Watched too many episodes of Dick Van Dyke, I guess... :D :p :D

Glad you didn't scare any of the nurses - what were you doing, hiding khuks in your gown??? If any of them took a peek, you could just tell them it's a Bura special!!!! :D

Ya old warrior, I'm glad the operation turned out good for you. Like Sarge says, Hope you heal up quick, prairies and woods are waiting for you. If you feel like I do, You want to spend as much time outside in the good weather as you can. I should have read up on the forum before I checked my email. Still praying for proper recovery. I don't think it can hurt anything.:)

heal fast, suffer little.

(Saw the first robins of Spring today. It was a record-setting -5 degrees last night. What WERE they thinking?)

In my own way, I prayed for you, and will continue to do so.

By the next operation I may have rigged a set of bellows so we can blow the smoke right up where it'll do the most good.

:D :D :D

You know me - anything I can do to help my big bro!

;) ;) ;)

Dusty Rusty you little sheit, ornery as ever!!!!;)

Just the way I like it. By the way, where you gonna blow the smoke?

this time around I'm having a whole lot more pain than I did when I had similar surgery about 8-9 years ago.:(

Think maybe it's just being older?
I didn't really believe I was gonna need extra pain meds considering what I already take, but by gollys I'm gonna do what the hospital suggested today when they called to see how I was doing and call my surgeon's office and see if I can't get something better than plain old 7.5/1000 Lortabs.
My 10 mg percosets will hardly touch the pain either!!!!:grumpy:

It's really aggravating to not be able to set at the computer very long with the foot hanging down, time to get back in my chair and put the bag of frozen corn back on it.;)

Great news Edutsi:) Glad to hear all went well.

You and my wife were practically in surgery at the same time! Hers went well too---see new thread for explanation...
