Just to make things short and sweet, I thought I had a knife deal going with Art, but apparently he had different ideas and sold the knife to someone else. Art, when you offer a knife to somebody(me) at a certain price, it is customary and also considerate to let me say yes or no before you sell it elsewhere. Thanks ever so much for turning me off this forum. Moderators, please take this as a resignation as a member. Thank you. Scott Nelson. :(

Right...so one bad deal and you are gone. I think that says as much about you as it does about him.

Have fun else where, and good luck to you.

It wasn't my first here, and it probably won't be my last elsewhere. I'm just cutting down the odds!

fullnelson,

Sorry to read that you had a bad experience here at BladeForums. Maybe after you've had time to think it over, you will decide that it's better to stay and let by-gones be by-gones.

I also had a bad deal today...(What I traded for wasn't what I received today...It was much less than I expected), but that's the way it goes sometimes...I'll live with it and move ahead, and know not to trade with that person again.

I am really tired of this crap! My rep. has been called into question several times in the past couple of months....all I can tell you is that buisness has been taken care of. Then you up and post this crap because you missed out on a sale? I've always dealt with the "I'll take it ", no questions asked as the primary buyer. I'm sorry you did not get the knife, but all I can tell you is to not deal with me in the future.

Without knowing any of the details, I gotta say Artsig is right "I'll take it" covers it. Too many times people think they have expressed "I'll take it" without making it clear to the seller. Then somebody does make it clear and guess what? They get the item in question. I too have had people upset because they thought they were 1st by asking questions or asking for a pic. A simple "I'll take it" gets the 1st dibs :) If Fullnelson want's to go, OK. Bye. If he chooses to stay fine there too. You aren't out any cash or trade items get over it

Those magic words,"I'll take it" works every time.
Mr.Nelson give it a chance. But next time ------------
If you snooze you lose.
Randy

If you take too much time deciding whether to buy or not to buy, you run the risk of losing out. Next time be quicker, thats all their is to it.

I agree. . . .It's up to the buyer to commit to the sell.

I didn't know that you had to "resign" your membership. . .when you didn't want to play here anymore. ;)

Well I'm preaching to to the choir but.....I think it is important that if you are inquiring about a knife let the seller know where you stand, tire kicker, procrastinator or I'm robbing my kids piggy bank and I'll get back to you in an hour.Deals can happen very fast here and the bottom line is you snooze you lose.I still like ya Art,come here and I'll give you a big hug. :D

Hey, I'm in on the group hug! :D

I always feel bad hearing someone's unhappy with a deal, but it happens -- and it means someone else IS happy. If you tell me, I'll take the knife if it's plain edge, or if shipping's included in the price, anything to let me know I have a sale, you got it. Otherwise, wow, I've seen what Art sells and the prices he posts, and I've bought from him. LOTS of guys are answering the call when Art Sigmon sells a knife. You have to be real clear because you are not the only one.

Misunderstandings abound. That's why people who buy and sell regularly here get in the habit of communicating clearly and completely and quickly. It can mean disappointment for the new guy who doesn't know the routine yet, but that's the way it has to be. It will work for you, too, once you learn.

Of course, there's always the old line: Don't go away mad, just go away. But we'd rather you learn the game, and stay and play. Your call.

Hey Art Sig has been good to me he held a knive for a week till I could get the loot and then took off some off the top after that. when is was already a deal "YOU ROCK SIG".........snooze and you lose :D

O.K- I've had almost a day to sit back and reflect on what transpired last night and to read all the posts that followed mine. I had a prior dealing with Art and had no problems. On this occasion I made an offer on a MT he had for sale. Looking back on the whole situation, I should of just bought the damn thing, but being after the Holidays, I was hoping to save a few bucks. Art write backs and says that I can have the knife for 5 bucks more than I offered, just let him know. I'm thinking WOW, great, and in a timely matter I e-mail him back and say O.K. it's a deal. But alas, the knife has been sold in the mean time. Where I come from, if two people are some what negotiating a deal, I would respect the wishes of the person I was in contact with before I sold the knife to some one else. If you do not want to sell the knife to me, why make me a counter offer? I know nothing was set in stone, but to be fair (in my mind) I should have had first crack at the knife. So life goes on. I miss out on a great knife, and the great circle of buying, selling, and trading knives goes on! Art, I'm sorry things didn't work out. I wish that you would have just given me a chance. Thanks for your time. Scott. :(

fullnelson, I understand what happened. It's happened to me too.

The problem is that the definition of timely must be whoever says "I'll take it" first. There no other way around it.

I had a guy one time think "timely" was several days. When I sold it to someone else in the mean time he was kinda grumpy about it.

Sorry you where disapointed, on the good side you're not out any money.

The collective jury of Bladeforums have determined that Artsig is guilty and shall be penalized by being forced to look at bewbies for an entire week!

Look for your bewbie thread in the cove tomorrow!

sorry to ask, but what's a bewbie?

btw, art should be "penalized" by sending out all his knives to us all, lol...

I've missed out on a few I really, really wanted, too, but not by getting so close. Still, with so many good ones out there, I can't afford them all anyway! :D
