I maker User blades. Hoping they get used.
I offer a variety of steels that I enjoy making, and using myself. This particular knife is from my budget line..... It's made from a PHSB (power hacksaw blade) this is Not a normal saw blade.
This is from a New, Starret High Speed Steel blade. Usually in M2 steel. Previous tested for hardness blades were at between 64-66HRC.
That's extremely Hard!
Many Makers start out using PHSB's they make Excellent knives. The reason a lot stop using the blades is because it's incredibly Slow to grind because they are incredibly Hard to grind. I use ceramic belts. It takes 2-3 times as long to grind these blades as other steels.
I will continue to offer various knives out of them. I enjoy the slow grinding, it's relaxing for me, and I'm not here for the money.... If you have an idea for a knife you'd like. Hit me up with what you'd like.... maybe we can come up with something.
Blade: PHSB HSS (probably M2) Flat/ Vex grind.
3.625" lg. .060" thick spine.
8" long overall.
Handle: Chunky vintage Micarta Black/Brown .895" thick
Aluminum/Bronze threaded fasteners.
Nickle/Bronze flared tubing
Black kydex sheath. Belt clip.

Close up of edge grinding scratches

Even though these are hard use blades, I'd only use them for knife duties. They are not prybars. They could break if abused?
*Do as I say, and not as I do.
My personal EDC that I have various postings here on BF is longer, and more delicate. But I stabbed it through over 4"thick of lake ice this last winter..... But I Don't recommend doing it.
I stand behind My work.
But I will not replace Abused knives. But I will try to work with you if something failed due to flaws.
I want my customers to be happy above all.
*This knife is Handmade.
I make my knives without lots of fixturing that you often see now a days, and definitely not with a laser, or cnc machining. I didn't just hit the Start Button, and out pops a knife. I use lots of saws, files, scribes, and grinder belts.
These knives are Not perfect. They have scratches, scuffs, and wonky bevels.
I free hand grind on my 2x72" belt grinder to my thickness, then I Hand grind on bench stones to my final sharp edge. That's why my edges are ugly. I'm more worried about not ruining my heat treating, than what the knife looks like all scratched up.
Do Not buy my knives if you are looking for showpieces..... Seriously. However, I will continuously work on perfecting My processes. My knives slowly are looking better and better, but I promise to never lose my charm..... Ha.
*I Am building a disk grinder, my finishes Will eventually get better!
Again, it's better off that you don't buy my knives.
If I didn't scare you off.....?
