This is probably my first food related knife.
Kitchen Utility knife. Owner would bring to work to help prepare lunches at work...

HSS Blade
Mesquite handle scales with vintage Micarta pins (before I started making hardware, and before I knew what I liked)

My wife was getting jealous of all the knives I was making for others. I needed to make her something. She likes the color Green. I had some neat green paper vintage Micarta material laying around.... This build was to test if I would like thin, Hard 8670 knives for kitchen use.

Yes, it will stain. My wife abuses this knife. She treats it like she Hates it. She's mean to it. Hard use. Neglect.
It's 64HRC, treatment at Bos.
It just stays sharp. It's scary, idk why it's always sharp. I touched it up once last year.
Checked it the other day, still Sharp.

For work we have a Christmas raffle and the proceeds go to buying local needy children presents. Two Christmases ago I asked HR if I could donate a chef's knife for the raffle. They said Yes, everyone was very excited. Many people were stuffing the box with tickets.

It was going well until the morning of the event.
Someone snitched to corporate. They cancelled my donation. Yet kept the proceeds. I felt bad people lost out....I almost got fired.

I still ended up donating the knife, but the money, a 100% went to the local animal shelter.
This next year, without my knife, and without that interest they drew 1000 dollars less than when I tried being involved....kinda sucks all away around. For everyone.

This was that knife.
Nitro V 64HRC. Stabilized maple from K & G.
Very Sharp, Comfortable handle.
New owner Loves it, now has multiples, and 2 more on order.....

I like a variety of edc knives. This was quite nice.
I made this for high performance. It's HSS, most likely M2. It came from a PHB, tested 65-66HRC. HARD. It will cut for a very long time.
I got talked out of it. Someone needed a last minute Christmas gift. Even though it was used, they wanted it, badly. Now, it's their favorite.

Mesquite Scales.
What a great knife.

Hey, is that mine I see? I Still use and love it!

This was fun to make....
The handle design came about from suggestions during my First Pass Around. It's a narrow, slimmed down version of my Long Paw handle that I often use on my field knives. I've made numerous kitchen knives with this handle pattern, but this was the First.

Longpaw Kiritsuke Reduced Grip
Steel: Nitro V hardened to 64HRC bos
ChiliPepper, Brass, and Richlite scales
Handmade Brass, and Aluminum Fasteners
Handmade, Hand ground, Hand sharpened

Nice knives. Did you ever consider making a matching serving fork?

Years ago, I'm the creator of the big Becker spatulas....I plan on doing more, with My handles. Oh...... I plan on making ALL kinds of stuff. I take requests. I recently had the world's fanciest grill scraper....Ha. Well maybe not the fanciest, but close. I'll post more of that later hopefully.....

*Proper credit added above.

Thanks.

Spa Day....
This knife gets Used hard and put away wet.
Unfortunately.
It actually doesn't get put away. It gets left out, always within reach. Grabbed
Sometimes clean, but Often covered in yesterday's salsa. Beaten, abused....Crapped on.

It's time for the yearly clean up.
I'm not fooling anyone, she's never going to be like new. Just going to make her feel pretty for a day, Tonight.
Tomorrow she's going going to be tarnished again......but now, she's good!

Beautiful knife. But what an irritating story. Some people have silly hangups with knives, guns etc .... But a kitchen knife??? 😡
