3V Drop Point "Long Paw"
I feel compelled to make knives because of the lack of availability in the knife market. I want certain things, maybe You do too?
This is a Basic knife. It's Just a knife. Your life won't be any better if you get this knife.
But........ You will have This knife. 😃

I designed/made this knife for a comfortable, neutral handle. I think My hands must be wider?
I don't like most knife handles. My time making knives will be focusing on better handles, for their use. It's not large, but if your hands are small this isn't for you. Some of my other designs would work better for you. This knife is a full grip.

-3V low temper, actual cryo 60RC
I don't want to name drop, but I was Fortunate to have a Leader in the industry heat treat for me. He has been extremely generous, and I am truly Thankful....these blades Rock!
(I'll talk privately with customers)
I guarantee the work
-vintage brown Micarta.
-handmade aluminum/bronze fasteners
-flared copper/nickle tubing
-kydex sheath set up for horizontal carry @2:00 (left hand cross draw) or vertical. QuickClipPro clip included. Many carry options would work. I was carrying for testing @5.

Almost 5" blade
.170" thick at spine, .020" bte or less
Flat, convex ground. Hand ground edge on stones, and steel. Yes, it's all scratched up!
9.75" overall
Knife: 8.9oz

*This knife is Handmade.
I make my knives without lots of fixturing that you often see now a days, and definitely not with a laser, or cnc machining. I didn't just hit the Start Button, and out pops a knife. I use lots of saws, files, scribes, and grinder belts.
These knives are Not perfect. They have scratches, scuffs, and wonky bevels.
I free hand grind on my 2x72" belt grinder to my thickness, then I Hand grind on bench stones to my final sharp edge. That's why my edges are ugly. I'm more worried about not ruining my heat treating, than what the knife looks like all scratched up.
Do Not buy my knives if you are looking for showpieces..... Seriously. However, I will continuously work on perfecting My processes. My knives slowly are looking better and better, but I promise to never lose my charm..... Ha.
*I Am building a disk grinder, my finishes Will eventually get better!

Again, it's better off that you don't buy my knives.

If I didn't scare you off.....?
$350

Price includes shipping. Lower USA only at this time, I'm sorry.

I can pick/refuse any offer
Must be 21 years or older
All your local rules and regulations apply, and I am void of Any lawsuits from you or any parties for Any/All reasons.
Don't be an idiot, these are sharp.

Thanks Bladeforum

I’m really digging the scales on this one!! Nice job.
Thanks, S&F
It was a happy accident.
Because it was vintage micarta, I normally like to keep the bark left alone, intact.

But it was too bulky feeling.
I made the tough decision of grinding the scale's face down to a nice thickness.
It turned out that the coloring underneath is Gorgeous!
The pictures look crappy.
I took the knife to work today, to show it off.
The scales are what everyone comments on. Turned out great!

I have a small sheet of it, and someone already requested a future knife made with them too. :)

It’s nice to see your knives coming to life ! Looks like a great slicer. The scales are excellent. Plenty of handle and nice Blade profile.. what’s not to like

The parts of this knife are in scale with each other (balanced, not lopsided looking or awkward visually) even as they are chunky & hefty looking. "Robust" comes to mind.

Is shoulder behind the edge actually 0.02" (thickness of 2 playing cards)? If so, that's a pretty substantial BTE dimension, especially for a blade I see as a kitchen companion. Just IMHO.

Re: handle. That oval'ish shape has similarities with the Spyderco Moran Featherweight handle, which is one of the most ignored and underrated handle shapes in knifedom from my perspective. The (American) football'ish shape echoes and fills the cavity of a gripping hand very competently and offers excellent & comfortable rotational control of the knife thereby reducing tendencies for finger fatigue or cramping. Textured, or rubbery inserts in Spyderco's case, materials provide traction.

As a personal preference, thinking of kitchen duty knives, I'm not fond of perforations/holes or divots/grooves/gouges that can collect food particles and complicate clean up. I like 'em smooth as a spanked baby's bottom. But that's just me.

I agree with everything you say....

You are pretty observant, the scales are more slab-like.
Exactly for the reason of not twisting and torquing in one's hand. Lots of control.
Still very comfortable. I made the top have a bit of swell. Lots of knives have swell on the bottom side of the handle, but I prefer it on the top.

Definitely not a kitchen knife.
I'm trying to struggle with it even being possibly an edc type knife?
It's too beefy for kitchen duty.
Maybe for cutting root vegetables? Ha
I like making knives a third this thick, but then they are different.

I think it's more of a "survival knife?
Maybe in the same role as a BK7, even though it's blade is only 5"
don't get me wrong..... I LOVE thin, camp knives, but this isn't a kitchen knife.

The people who hold it, like it's weight. It's confidence. It's heft.
Substantial. Just right.
I like your observations.

*you are right about cleanliness and lanyard holes too.
I did it for potential lashing.

On another, different knife I'm working on..... I'm struggling in my head if I want to make more threaded hardware, or use flared tubing, for the reasons you gave.
My intentions is for it to be my "bait knife"....... holes Might get slimey with blood
