Thanks Busse Combat

As always it was a great show and I was lucky enough to have a table close to Busse Combat and was able to meet the whole crew. Had a good talk with Jerry, Andy, and Dave. As I was leaving the show, Dave ran me down at the door and presented me with an INFI quilted micarta Mean Street! I had pretty much forgotten about the contest on guessing the secret ingrediant to INFI and this very fine knife was my prize. Thanks! See you all next time!

It's really cool.

All...Rob was just a few tables down and we had a lot of laughs together...it was fun to meet him and call him friend.

It’s great to hear that Rob and the others had a fun time at the Blade Show…I’ll definitely have to find a way to get there next year! I’m also glad to know that Rob got the “Mean Streets” from the “name-the-secret-ingredient-in-INFI” contest. Which brings me to my somewhat delicate question…do any of the folks from Busse Combat know when the other winners might be receiving their prizes? I’m very appreciative of both the contest and the great prizes, but I am beginning to get a little curious as to when the winners

might expect to receive these knives. I certainly don’t want to come across as an ungrateful wretch (after all, it is a free Busse knife); I realize that Busse has a tremendous amount of backorders and is running a little behind on deliveries. I was just contemplating drafting a message to send to the good folks at Busse about this when I saw Rob’s post…I hope I’m not out of line for posting my concerns here.

Again, congrats to Rob on his new prize! Hopefully I’ll be able to join him in experiencing the joys of “Mean Streets” ownership in the not-to-distant future

Jim...send a note to Dave Roberson at bussecombatdave@yahoo.com and I'm sure he'll give you a feel for when the prizes will be delivered.

Thanks for the info, Andy. As I said earlier, I meant to send a message directly to Busse customer service; I just didn’t have a point of contact. I feel kind of awkward I about my earlier post…I realize that it probably sounds terribly impatient of me to complain about the belated delivery of a free knife. My comments certainly weren’t intended to criticize Busse’s practices; it just that Rob’s post reminded me of this issue. I’ll send a message to Dave this afternoon…

Jim

I had a mail from Susan at Busse last friday to say my knife had been sent out by post that day. HOORAY

Now I just hope the box does not say Busse COMBAT all over it as things may get a bit sticky with customes at my end if it does.

I am drooling in anticipation of its safe receipt on this side of the water.

Just a follow-up…

I just received the Mean Street that I won in the name-the-secret-ingredient-in-INFI contest…this is a really impressive knife! Even though I’ve read the specs on the Busse Combat line, I was still kind of shocked at how robust this knife is…the “nuclear tough” appellation certainly seems justified. I haven’t had a chance to do much cutting with it yet, but it has one of the sharpest out-of-the-box edges that I’ve ever encountered (which is especially impressive on a knife this thick). It feels great in the hand and the Kydex sheath is quite well done. I found myself chuckling maniacally and grinning like an idiot while handling it…I think this is going to turn out to be a pretty special knife.

I really hope customs doesn’t muck about with your inbound knife, bagman…I think you’re going to be very pleased when you get your hands on this hunk o’ steel

Thanks again to all of the folks at Busse for the contest and the great prizes…the Mean Street is definitely worth the wait! Now I’ve got to go find something to destroy with my latest toy…

I have just picked up my knife from the post office this afternoon HOORAY

I did have to pay some customs duty etc on it but I will taking this up with the Customs & Excise directly.

I now know what people mean when they say that hairs jump off their arms to get away from the blade.

The grip that ht emicarta scales give you is just superb.

Thank you again Busse.
