Even my wife says it looks bigger when it's naked!

Just decided to strip my Heavy Heart last night. This thing looks much bigger and very cool. I have a little more clean up to do with some Scotch-Brite, but other than that, it's a user, so it is staying plain.

I like the pitted look of the top part of the blade.

Well, I just thought I'd share. I used Jasco stripper and I had to apply twice. Rinsed with water and used a stainless brush for around the slabs.
One more thing, when they say to use gloves with the stripper, they mean it..............OUCH!;) :D

Good job. I like the coarse bead-blasted kind of appearance. And, you can paint it purple or orange if you want later. Probably don't want your wife to get any ideas btw :D .

Thanks for the inspiration, mymindisamob!

One day soon my HH will look the same way...... :D

Thanks for the comments! Just so you guys know, It chops twice as good and sharpens twice as fast now. I was amazed!

Nice job!

I too have noticed that there is less friction on my stripped and polished knives when cutting materials that extend the width of the blade. The knives seem to slip through materials like thick rope and cardboard better.

They may chop wood easier because the blade has less friction and may bind in wood less than a knife with a rough coating. I will have to look into this. :D

That looks good! I'm going to let mine get most of the way there naturally, then give that a shot.

Same here. I'm not going to strip all that beautiful, THICK, coating off. I'll let the various cellulose-rich things that I chop with it do that for me..
