Are you really that uptight, just a question for my friends YES in the Wilderness forum.....I am impressed with her outdoor skills and understanding of folks that live and survive in the outdoors.....didn't ask your political affiliation....very disappointed now by a couple of responses....and neg. responses from outside the country....what gives. You can easily skip a thread if you're not interested, don't feel obligated to respond and offer YOUR opinion to everything.

Sorry just hate little e-mail attacks and then to have the thread locked and closed, thought this was a free and open discussion forum as long as it was clean and respectful....lesson learned, very disappointed. Go ahead and block me from using this forum if this is how it is, I thought from my previous discussions it was an relaxed and kind group.

Hey bro. It is a relaxed forum and we welcome and appreciate your thoughts on subject of wilderness and survival, gear, knives, etc. Most of the time Political talk leeds to argument and its just easier to not have that here. Essav did the right thing, don't take it personal, and just try to keep Wilderness and Survival about Wilderness and Survival.

I could not agree more. I was thinking of something to respond with and none of it was worded quite as nicely as your response. ;)

thanks Tony, I apprecaite your response. Was not meant as a questions about who will you vote for, was merely noting what a good outdoors lady she is, and how she appreciates a lot of what we do....and could be in a high political office...which could be good for us. We are in need of all the voices we can get on our side. This is not a political choice question, just pointed out her potential. I disagree though, Essav has not right to shut me down, if it's a question someone doesn't agree with or want to consider, then don't respond, move on...as long as it's clean, and non offensive. With all due respect Essav has problem never been to Alaska so is clueless as to the point I'm am trying to make about how it could be good for ALL us outdoors and wildnerness types.......but again, some feel the need to respond to everything. Sorry bro, my right to my opinion is very sacred to me, especially when I"m not trying shove it down someones througth. Thanks again, and I know from past experience it is a GREAT group of folks on this forum, guess that's why I am so blown away.

That is EXACTLY the reason that the mods request that ALL threads that could be construde as political be contained in one messy area.

This is an open forum, and you can discuss anything within the law, but it is asked that you put it in the right place.

Feel free Bro, that's what it's all about, not trying to offend anyone, if you got offended because of something I said, then I apologize. If you got offended just to get offended, then you're who I'm talking about.....again with all due respect.
 
You are right. You do have a right to give your opinion. But Esav also has the right to enforce the rules of this forum and he did not "shut you down" he just gave you a warning. Esav is a mooderator and because of that he enforces the laws. Noone is getting on to you we are just explaining the rules. This is a forum with specific subforums not a chatroom.

Nah, I don't get offended easily. I especially don't get offended by reading someone else's opinion and beliefs.

It would be cool to see what kind of knife Mrs. Palin carries. :thumbup: I wonder if we emailed her if we'd get a response. :yawn:

I understand and appreciate your input, guess I made a mistake...my intention was a Wilderness related question, and about her skills, and how refreshing it was to hear about them.....if we can't put polotics aside and talk about that then I made a mistake and put it in the wrong forum. Forgive the new guy.....just get PO'd when I'm shut down like I was.....sorry.

With all due respect he locked the question, basically allowing no more comments on it, smacked my hand and locked the door....that's what upset me, need a moderator yes, I agree...for offensive or disrespetful pieces, not because you disagree with someone elses opinion though. That's why it's America. I don't get offended if someone else disagree's with me, heck I would be mad at my wife all the time!HA But I still have a right to that opinion and it shouldn't be censored. Enough said, I WAY over it now, thanks again guys.

If you're seriously this upset about one of your threads getting locked I'd say you're the one who is uptight, not the rest of W&S.

I am a huge Palin supporter, but this is a private site and they have rules on what gets posted where. There is no such thing as free speech on a private site and therefore your "this is America" argument doesn't apply.

You are clearly not over it, as you have started a second thread and continue to argue your point.

I hope he locks this one too.

Actually, as a moderator, Esav does have that right. Remember, your right to free speech is not necessarily valid here. I know that sounds off, but it is a private forum to some extent and he can lock a thread that wanders off topic or is just not in the right place at all.

This is a great group of guys and the mods are very consistent here. SO...my best advice to you is to quit whining about it and move on with your life before you get an infraction or ban. Trust me, this little friendly bit of advice will go a long way here.

It is amusing to me how the rules are applied and defended in more than one forum here. We can post about cats, dogs, spouses, knife care, knife reviews, passarounds and humorous videos? All which have their own areas on this forum? I thought this was a great cross section for discussion. I like the diversity we generally have here, but this current trend of shutting down threads which involve those now in the political limelight seem to be a knee jerk reaction. Palin is now being spotlighted for multiple reasons. One ( the reason for the original post I believe) is that she is very dedicated to the outdoors and activities in it. That is pretty cool in my book, and on topic for this part of the forum.

If he had "shut you down" you would have been banned. Nobody wants you to be banned. This is a very good place for information of the wilderness and survival type. With the rules we can all get along and learn.

Your inability to take a polite warning is going to get you banned quick...think on it real hard...Nothing I posted was offensive. I responded tit for tat to what you "composed." If you can't handle it, perhaps you should move on and quit wasting bandwidth that can be used for discussion relevant to the outdoors...
 
Now all, please take a deep breath and let this go. I don't think the OP was being a troll, he got upset about getting shut down. People all deal differently. He now knows that there is no political talk regardless of what nature he intended it for, here in the W.S.S. Lets just let this thread fall off the charts, and give the guy another shot.
