Thanks Gang!!!! I'm now out of the grasp of evil Drs' and home.

I hear you Dr. Dan.
I am obese but not due to diet, just lack of exercise due to pain over the last several years. B/P is generally 120/65 without meds in spite of my heart being in bad shape.
Hopefully things will get better now as right at this moment I am not experiencing any back pain, just pain in the hip which I think is more
inflamation than anything else. This is the first time I can say my back has been pain free for several years.:D
Hopefully it will continue that way!

I miss everything! Yvsa, I'm sorry I missed all this. I took a couple of days off and did not know that you had gone in for the surgery. I saw the first couple of posts and then cancellations but not this one.

I am glad that everything went OK for you. I am not an expert but think your low blood pressure may be an ndn thing. My wife who has a lot of Blackfoot / Flathead ndn blood has very low BP and cholesterol. She ran long distance for years and I guess that helped a lot, and even though she has gained weight over the years it is still low. She had her cholesterol checked and it went from _19_ to a high of 31! I didn't know the numbers could get that low.

Dr. Dan is saying stuff we all know but I suck at it. I used to be in great shape, but approaching my 50th B-Day I am overweight and stressed to the max with the job thing. The bastards don't give you a chance to catch your breath it seems, and 12 hours sitting in front of a box all day doesn't help.

I just have to make the time for it somehow I guess.

BTW, I just watched that show called "Super Size Me" on TV today, and that will put you off fast food for a good long while...!

Get well soon, and I hope you get some much needed relief from the pain you have been experiencing.

Regards,

Norm

Maybe they only took part of your wit...that would make you a ummm...half wit?:D
Very glad to see that your back is pain free. It's quite something to free of isn't it?

Welcome home, get well soon.

Glad to hear you're doing ok! Back pain gone?!? Looks like they put you back together all right!

Hospitals are for the sick.

Well, Yvsa always was a little "sick" in da hed, so why'd they ever let him out? Musta been those foxy follies! :D

Ah, very good, Yvsa. Welcome back, and you have a lot of reading to do... :D

But 34 staples, holy cow. I don't think I'd be using a computer for a few months.

email sent on Bura-made back brace, no longer needed...

Welcome home:) It's a load off our minds. Rest up. I envy your sloppy joes. The turkey was great, but i'm looking at 4 weeks worth of sandwiches in my fridge. The pig, the cow, and the fish have their day in the sun.

Jake

What do you people do anyway, get 50lb turkeys?
My friend had a 21 pounder, and it was finished off by Friday night!...

Actually Mike this brace is the most comfortable one ever!!!! :D  The first was a chair back brace that had a cumbersome metal frame with attached girdle. I only thought it uncomfortable until the second and third surgeries when I was fitted with a "Clam Shell" brace.
Now it was a cumbersome affair, solid plastic with adjustable straps on the side. There couldn't be enough holes drilled into it to make it cool and it was hell to get into and out of.
I had to lay on the bed and roll into the back portion and then pull the top portion over and strap in. :(
This one is just two strips of thick very heavy and tightly woven cloth with several lines of the inner portion of parachute line holding them together and with a handle attached to two lines of the same that I pull tight and over to the other side after closing the two sides with velcro.
Sounds complicated but isn't, very comfortable but still hot and sweaty.

Rest up and get back on your feet as soon as possible...
Trust me on this....:D

James, believe me I do know about getting back on your feet asap.
I stayed in and froze today in spite of the hot and sweaty back brace.
We had wind chills of 27* today and I hurt from the cold.

Yvsa?

Check the model on the body brace.

After the shoulder surgery, I was given (Hah!!-couple of hundred bucks!) a shoulder/arm extender thingie. It was agony.

It turns out to have been the "Marquis DeSade" model. I got a refund. Still have the t-shirt. Want it?

wacherass, hear?

There are some things that are impossible to refuse!

Me ME Me Me....

Glad to hear you're back and working through it. Don't do too much too soon, dag gummit, or you'll end up back in that hospital!
