i spent the day at grease man's shop today. i learned alot and even taught him a thing or two. he showed me how to do a bevel and we cut up some spalted maple and curly maple. i was a nice guy and even helped him put the chains on his lawn mower tires. i think it is awesome that we have this forum, as i would have not met him otherwise. looking for to next time matt!

Sounds like fun but I'm confused.... chain's on a lawnmower tire? People steal them up there or something

:p

I was thinking, what's to mow up there this time of the year.:D Sounds like a great time.

Take care, Craig

It's so your mower doesn't slip when mowing in the snow..... it's easier than hooking the deck up to the snowmobile. :)

What's a "snowmobile" a twirly thingy with snowflakes?

Sorta like a Northern Wave Rider, but cold. I'm sure there're some snowflakes somewhere twirling around on 'em in a pastel snowsuit.
Is that what you meant? :D

Ed, you are most welcome! I must thank you again for helping me with those chains! I had a great time and you are certainly welcome to visit again! It is great to have a knife-nut close by.

I guess someone forgot to tell Will that it's getting on to winter season in the Northern hemisphere! Will have you ever even seen a snow removal tool of any kind down there? :p -Matt-

Snow removal... hmmmmm My kids use a spoon in the snow cones we bought the other day. :D It IS cold down here, I think the low yesterday was like 40 something

That must be kinda cold in 'Bama. Throw another log on the fire...you'll make it through this tough winter! ;)

I guess I should edit this to be more on topic. From what I've seen, Ed is pretty darn good working with his hands and has a problem solving way of thinking...two qualities which I wish I possessed. I lent my 1"x42" belt/disk grinder to him and traded him some steel for some of the wood he sawed up. He's gonna get a drill press and some other things soon...he seems to have some talent, so I can't wait to see what he comes up with! -Matt-
