Shelby(Aluminum Overcas) took a few sheath and knife pics for me, his photography is unbelievable. I think he might even make things look better than they are,LOL.
Here's one he took of the sheath I made for my stag Emerson CQC6.
Dave,
I always knew your work was good. (I have three)But, finally some good pictures.
That Stag Emerson is just the best, but you put the wrong initials on the sheath, should have been, WH.
Evertime I see Shelbys work I am more amazed. I think these were taken outside of a studio, too. Amazing.
Thank you all for the compliments, they are greatly appreciated.
Yes, all hand stitching, and I have the holes and scars on my fingers and hands(couple of holes in my stomach too from aggressive pulling)to prove it.
Very nice Dave! Send ALL your sheaths to Shelby, makes a world of difference when you get a good image like that! Hat's off to Shelby and to you for keeping up the work!
Hand stiching is a pain. Literally! Ya got those callouses on your pinky fingers from the thread yet?
You have improved quite a bit from the first sheath I saw that you made. Leaps and bounds.
I love that sheath you did for the Emerson. Your leatherwork is really nice Dave.
One quick question and please excuse my ignorance, but, what is a Valkyrie?(referring to the knife of course and not the Norse mythological figures ) And, who made it?
Thanks for the compliments.
The Valkyrie is made by Tom Anderson and is a spectacular knife. You can see pics of them in his thread called "Almost Done" on this forum about a week ago.
