Thanks to enablers twisting my arm, I now have a Tai Pan in San Mai on order. (Update: Got it!)...

I was just thinking about something... If Cold Steel has the same Taiwan knife factory that makes these Tai Pan', making their yet to be released Arksnsas Toothpick', the wait may actually be well worth it!
And, if the Arkansas Toothpick turns out to be a good seller, (my gut feeling is that it will be okay, but not a great seller for them), that maybe a San Mai version would be a great follow-up for it 😁

On a related note, does anyone have a side by side comparison of one of today's Taiwan made San Mai Tai Pan' vs. one of the previously made in Japan versions?
I'm curious to see how close the Taiwan specimens have come to the quality level of the previous Japanese produced Tai Pan'.

Thanks in advance 👍

Every bit of evidence I've seen has shown that the one's coming from Taiwan are 99% to 100% the same exact quality as their older Japanese counterparts.

Thanks!
I am highly impressed with this specimen that I received. The machinery being used to make them is likely state of the art. Also, their QC is likely kept at a high level, as to not give Cold Steel any reasons to look for a manufacturing source replacement.
It's just amazing how far Taiwan has come in this world... Whether it be making and supplying critical micro chips, or making excellent quality items like these knives, they seem to have their act very well together over there 👍😊👍
