A while back, I was very pleased to be picked as joint winner of Vanguards mystery giveaway (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Am-Gold-Again-quot-Giveaway-WINNERS-ANNOUNCED). Vanguard posted off the prize very promptly, sending it First Class International Air Mail, but its taken a while to reach me. No wonder, considering that for some reason, despite the package being very clearly addressed, it went VIA AUSTRALIA! When it arrived in Australia, one might think that whoever received it at the Australian Postal Service might have scratched their head a bit, but sent it promptly on its way to England. Instead, they opened it for inspection by Australian Customs, on what legal or common sense basis Im unsure.

Anyway, Vanguards package finally arrived into my eager hands yesterday, and I opened it with my underused Boker Stockman and a quickened pulse. Along with a nice hand-written note from the good man himself, carefully packaged, were an assortment of goodies.

Its rare to come across an old US-made knife here, that hasnt been purchased via the internet, so vintage American knives are a real treat for me, and I really like the Camillus jack that I won. It has the pen in front of the main blade, as I prefer, is in great shape, and came ready to carry (as all the knives did). Its a good size for EDC too, and I can see were going to get along very well
Along with the Camillus, Vanguard included three other knives: A Schrade Old Timer muskrat pattern, a great old knife with some real character; a cute little Hammer Brand pen-knife; and a German Unimart with a single blade.
With the knives, Vanguard also very kindly sent some coins for me, and a vintage Cleveland police button. Im afraid that the kitchen-table pic here doesnt do them or the knives justice, but I hope to get better ones soon. I just wanted to get this up and say thanks to Vanguard, and that I really appreciate the generosity. Thanks pal
