I started hanging around this forum about a month ago, looking for info on a good one-hand-opening utility-SD. I had never had one before, although I have a house full of slip joints, Opinels, and lots of fixed blades. I won't go into all the reasons I wanted one, but I was looking for ease of carry, fast deployment, toughness and a good size.

First thing that really took my fancy was the Buck 889. I went so far as to order one, but after reading all the tales of lock failure, I cancelled and went back to the drawing board.

Long story short, thanks to you guys, I went with the Endura 4, ordered through the mail.

Got it today.

Absolutely superb in all respects. And sharp? I thought, after 30 years of messing with knives, that I knew what sharp was. Little did I know....

What a knife!

congrats on your knife. I too have gotten a lot from this forum

Nope, just the regular one. I figured I get more steel, therefore more lateral strength, and it also seems that penetration would be impeded by the wave. I'm also not in THAT much of a hurry.:D

The only trouble with this knife is that it has me looking at other Spydercos, none of which I need. Sure think that Salsa is a cute little thing. Dang. Also the Military. Also....
