Canada does not have flat rate boxes - and it looks like I have a friend about an hour away who is interested in this one. You are right. Looks like everyone may be happy.
For what it's worth, I've been using one of these for several years. I use it to flatten tapered tangs and handle scales, and occasionally for bolsters. It is sufficient; that is to say, I can get a no-line fit between bolsters and blade using the disk. Hand lapping would be more accurate obviously, but hasn't been necessary for me. If I get a line (and I still do sometimes), it ain't because of the disk.
