That Endura

I hear those convex blades are good cutters. :D
Indeed. Just rounding the bevel transition makes a huge difference in media like corrugated cardboard. It greatly reduces the resistance the side of the blade encounters when passing through the cut. Convexing a saber ground blade takes a lot of work if done manually, but makes an incredible cutter.

do the curvy bladed Enduras get any love in here? AKA the matriarch

the Endura 3's are real gems. while you could say the 4's are improved with liners, grind, screw construction etc.. the 3's still rule the roost for me. the 3's are the golden Enduras. just my opinion of course;)

I've been using my Endura all day. What a great knife for so many different things.

The square back handle fits my hand better, the shorter lock is quicker to get my thumb on, The clip is easily tighten with a quarter and I like the shape better, no open screw holes at the pivot, action on all mine are better then all my 4's, I like the pointy blade much better the the humped spine on the 4's

I could pick just as many things the 4 improved but they are not important to me. If I could combine the two I'd take a 3 with FFG and bi-directional textering.

Here's my first Endura on light woods duty yesterday. Because of it, I have a couple of others on the way.

The Enduras are in a dead heat with my PM 2's as favorites. I definitely prefer the blade lock style on the Endura versus the PM 2.

:thumbup:I totally agree. Mine with ffg in zdp 189 is back in my edc rotation after being in my drawer for a couple of years. Great slicer and great utility knife, stronger than you think. Great price for the steel.

I usually carry the FFG ZDP-189 Endura:

But today I broke out the Saber-ground VG-10 Endura:

Can't go wrong with either...

Thanks for the pix and I like your last sentence.

Much thanks! I had this one dedicated to a go-bag, and almost forgot I even had it! I swapped it out and put the plain edged one in the bag. I think I'll carry this one for a while:

I've got my VG-10 saber-ground half-serrated Endura 4 with me again today:
