That Incredibly Satisfying Feeling When You Finally Break In a Sticky Lock

Emerson was the first to come to my mind as well. Was very happy when my Commander finally gelled.

The only sticky locks than bother me are liner locks, but I generally dislike liner locks anyway so I don't buy many.

I like your Photo.
As far as a sticky lock. If I bought a knife and it had a sticky lock I would be more than tempted to send it back; assuming we are talking a knife that cost $100 dollars, $200 etc.,

I have been known to take my diamond files to a lock or two to improve the performance. They DEFINITELY were not sticking though. If I just loved the knife to death I would immediately take it apart and get it working. Of course any knife that I was that excited about would be from a maker that could . . . well . . . actually . . . basically speaking . . . MAKE knives so it would not be an issue.

Or maybe I'm over thinking a simple and pleasant thread .

I have a Manix 2 LW that is now buttery smooth. Not quite an axis still, but only because the spring tension is higher. It took quite a while to break in though.

Manix 2 LW

On mine the lock worked smoothly from day one. I barely, barely loosen the pivot screw on the second day.
If the lock would have been sticking or other than just a strong spring it would have been winging it's way back to Golden. They did a good job on it though. Thanks Sal and the gang !

PS: I swear the heat treat is better on my Seki City ZDP-189 DF2 than on my CPM-S110V Manix LW

Noalox antioxidant compound works extremely well at fixing sticky locks. I highly recommend it.
