Did you ever completely forget about a knife, only to come back around to it a while later and remember, "dang, I really do like this knife!"

I was going through my knives today picking a few out to sell since they rarely if ever get carried anymore, some never had, and I came across a box I completely forgot I even owned.

Nothing fancy or expensive, just a discontinued Kershaw Tremor NiB, that got shuffled to the backburner through other purchases and fancier knives and steels, this and that and what have you.

I really do like this knife!

Who else forgot about a knife they own, (or owned once before), and by chance or by fate came back around to it one way or another and remembered just why/how much you like it?

It's more of knives I forgot I don't like, so I don't carry them. Example would be the PM2, and to a lesser extent, the Gayle Bradley 1.

I don't have many knives, 12 I think, so I generally don't forget about them.

CRKT Prowler
Forgot I liked it? Heck, I forgot I owned it! Lost it under the seat of my Mazda. Later, I found it and gave it some pocket time. Now, it's one of my all time favorite extreme budget knives.

Benchmade 583 Barrage. Took it down. Treated with FrogLube and lubricated with Krytox 205. The assist hits hard...THWAACK :thumbsup:

The Mora companion in my car's center console. It's rare that I need to use it but when it comes out I am always impressed all over again

I have done this with multiple knives, but also specifically with this same knife. I got my Tremor for a ridiculously low price, $10-12 IIRC from a deal site, and I left it in a little tool box and was pleasantly surprised when I found it again. One of my all time favorite ~$10 purchases.

Nice!
I paid closer to $30, but still a whole lotta decent quality knife, even at that price.
Definitely stoked I found it, carrying it right now.

Manix LW BD1. When I got this thing I loaned it to a friend. When he returned it I put it in its box and stashed it away for a long time. So one day I'm like let me sharpen that sucker up. From the moment I was sharpening it I was like this thing will make a super EDC. So I started carrying it. So light that it is a pleasure to EDC. The only drawback is that when folded it is abit wide.

3 knives that I forget how much I like when I delve through my box-o-knives but don't currently include in my rotation:

1. Modified BM Mini-Onslaught:

2. Modified Esee Zancudo (file work):

3. Modified Cold Steel Mini Recon (wetsanded locking interface, manufacture issues corrected, coating removed):

For me it was the Kershaw knockout i gave my knife away to a friend then I saw the knife in the store about two years later and I remember how much I love that knife.

Cold Steel Trail Master. I forgot it for a few years until my friend showed me that he had acquired a big knife. Then I remembered that I have a big knife too.

Southern Grind's Spider Monkey.

Thanks to this thread, this little puppy is back in my pocket!

Southern Grind Bad Monkey. I really want one now and I'm not sure what blade style/color configuration to get. I may end up with 2, but I do want at least one. The Spider Monkey has also made it onto my radar and I want to get one of those as well.

90% of my knife use is with a SAK. SAKs are probably a few percent of the total accumulation. So, yeah, I forget about knives I own. If thinking about it, I might remember buying something, but I often don't know where it is if I had to a lay my hands on it quickly.
