That look when you tell someone you spent more than $50+ on a knife....

Back in the days when Camillus first came out with the Beckers I caught a good deal and got my BK7 for close to 50.00. One day it's out on my desk after cleaning it and my buddy ask how much did it cost and I told him and he was like "for this" and had a look of horror on his face. This was a guy who would buy games for 50+ dollars play them a week and then go trade them for 10-20 bux credit at gamestop. I still have that BK7 he can't say the same for the xbox and all the games.

Everyone has stuff that they will spend money on and it will be different from person to person.

What gets me are the ones driving $60K + cars (and more than one, the wife has one too), get their kid a $40K car to drive to High School, living in $400K plus houses, 10K watches, and every latest gadget you can think of that say something about a $100 knife.....
Bingo.

All of my knives put together don't even cost 1/10th the price of the boat in my neighbors driveway, or my other neighbor's cabin in the woods, or the idiotic little sports car (IMO) that one bought for their wife. My knives don't depreciate much either.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't need them, I simply want them. But I could easily sell them if need be and recoup almost all of my money.

I've come so far as to lie about how much I spent. Whenever my girlfriend or friends see I have a new knife the first question out of their mouth is, "How much was it?" My default answer is always $200 when I actually spent $1500.

That's how you know you're deep into the knife obsession when you tell your girlfriend that it was "only" $200 and she says nonchalantly, "oh, ok".

Interesting price point we have established. I even have a 200$ AR in the safe...

Whenever I tell anybody that I have a $200 knife in my pocket the response is almost always "Can I see it?" followed by "Damn, that is nice!". I am pretty sure that I have sold a few people on $50+ knives, and turned quite a few people off of junky Mtech or Chinese no brand junk.
