I read an article in the new issue of Blade about a new Classic Sebenza due for regular production. It has micarta inlays and nothing else flashy, just simple and tactical, I like it! When is it due out?

It's bead blast on the handles. I held one at Blade and almost pulled the trigger to buy it, but finances just wouldn't quite let me. The micarta is just slightly rough enough and placed well enough on the handle that the knife kind of sticks to your hand. It would be even better as it got wet. I'm going to have to save up for one of those babies as it was one of the best knives I held in the whole show, IMHO. Hmmmm.... might have to sell my Criswell Wak soon to buy something I can actually use and carry on daily basis.

I also talked to Mike Young who was nice enough to show me around the shop last summer. He also said that the Micarta inlay is very easy to refurb, much easier than the wood inlays and just a bit more work than a refurb on the basic model and that the micarta is the same as they use on the GB knives. Tick,tick,tick and the wait begins. The ergos of the inlay combined with the durability of the basic model. Sounds like a winning combo to me! Thanks Mindy and Mike and everyone at CRK!

Yes, they were telling me at Blade that unlike the wood inlay Sebenza, they don't have to take out the micarta inserts to bead blast the knife during a refurb as the micart gets blasted too.
