Charlie, i think the handles are just as remarkable, no shrinkage at all and no cracks. Is it celluloid ?
Took me a few minutes to get the girlfriend on the BSA analogy, but i get it now, she was tall (or long as you say). My mind wandered. 40 or so years ago was the heyday of the 1960's. Did she ride topless ? except for the sensible use of a helmet ?

. . . . Anthony, that punch is a Napanoch patent. When Winchester bought them out ca. 1919, they used that punch for a while in their knives, before switching to one easier to machine.
Goins says Crown Cutlery was in business ca.1900-1930, so either Nap or Win could have made that punch is my guess.
